Trust & Safety

Keeping students safe

PeerBridge Moldova is a peer-to-peer marketplace where student-tutors teach younger learners. Because minors are involved on both sides, we take safety seriously. This page explains what we do, what we expect from tutors and parents, and how to report concerns.

How we vet tutors

  • Every tutor profile is manually reviewed and approved by the founder before going live.
  • Tutors must provide a real photo, school/university, and full CV including teaching experience and style.
  • Profiles in pending or rejected status are never visible to families.
  • Approved profiles carry a "Verified" badge.

Parental guidance

  • For learners under 16, we strongly recommend a parent or guardian be involved in creating the account, choosing the tutor, and supervising the first lesson.
  • Online lessons should be held on platforms that allow recording (e.g. Zoom, Google Meet) and ideally in a shared family space.
  • In-person lessons should be held in public or supervised places (libraries, cafés, the family home with a parent present).
  • Parents should never share home addresses or full contact details before the first lesson.

Communication rules

  • Keep early communication on the platform. Do not share personal phone numbers, social-media handles, or addresses with a tutor before a lesson is confirmed.
  • Tutors must never request personal contact details, photos, or meetings outside of agreed lessons.
  • Any romantic, sexual, or inappropriate contact is strictly forbidden and is grounds for immediate removal and, where appropriate, referral to authorities.

Reporting a problem

If you ever feel uncomfortable about a tutor, a message, or a lesson, please contact us immediately at safety@peerbridge.md. We review every report personally within 48 hours. Profiles under investigation are suspended while we review.

In an emergency

If a child is in immediate danger, contact Moldovan emergency services on 112 before contacting us. The Child Helpline Moldova is available on 116 111.
